Grant Writer/Grant Manager |
| Position Description: |
The Family Support Center (FSC) is currently seeking a Grant Writer/ Manager to join our Administrative Team. The Grant Writer/ Manager is responsible for coordinating efforts to secure and maintain funding sources for the FSC’s four programs: (1) Crisis Nurseries, (2) Clinical Services, (3) LifeStart Village, and (4) PERKS program. We are looking for a very strong writer and communicator who can provide a consistent voice in presenting the FSC’s programs and accomplishments. May be asked to provide a writing sample before hire.
About the FSC
The FSC is a nonprofit organization, founded in 1977, that supports families in Salt Lake, Summit, and Tooele Counties. The FSC recognizes the strengths inherent in every family and strives to build up the five protective factors (which have been shown to increase family stability and reduce child abuse and neglect) through our services. We adhere to the Standards of Quality put forth by the National Family Support Network. |

Full-time 40 hours/week. Also open to 2 Part-time as well |

$23.00-$30.00 doe |

| Requirements: |
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Writing, Journalism, Public Health, Research, or related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Two plus years of grant writing, prospect search, and reporting experience
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Familiarity with online grant research and other nonprofit management tools
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent analytical and time management skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- 18+ Years of Age
- Department of Human Services Background Check (Upon Hire)
- CPR & First Aid Certification (To Take Once Hired)

| Major Duties and Responsibilities: |
- Understand and commit to the vision, mission, and values of the FSC
- Acquire and maintain sound knowledge and understanding of the FSC programs and projects for which funding will be sought
- Draft and/or review grant proposals and reports, tailoring each to fit specific focus areas and interests of foundation, corporate, or government funders
- Submit grant proposals and/or reports with strict adherence to each funder’s unique requirements, including deadlines, proposal and budget formats, and all mandatory attachments
- Conduct a robust appreciation program to adequately show thanks to our many funders.
- Conduct ongoing prospect research on potential funders in new and existing markets and evaluate grant opportunities identified by the development and program teams
- Assist with communications and marketing materials, including but not limited to website content, supporter emails, and internal and external newsletters
- Assist Executive Director in developing funding partnerships and program models
- Represent the FSC to funders, partners, and the community in a positive, professional manner
