President's Message

With the holidays just around the corner, the ChamberWest Board of Directors and staff would like to wish you a very happy holiday season. We find ourselves truly blessed with all the great people who care deeply about our community and look forward to another exciting year as 2020 is just around the corner.

With 2020, comes many great programs and events, one of which is the Annual Awards Gala. At this event, we highlight three finalists in five different award categories with the award winner announced that evening. Along with the business awards, we will be recognizing our Hall of Fame Award Recipient, Mayor Ron Bigelow from West Valley City.  Mayor Bigelow has many years of service to this community as a mayor, a state legislator, the State Budget Director in the Governor’s Office just to hit on a few highlights. As a US Air Force veteran, he is also actively working to bring a Veterans Memorial to West Valley City, a great addition to our westside footprint. Mayor Bigelow has been an incredible champion of ChamberWest demonstrated through his leadership on the Legislative Affairs Committee and his engagement with the Board of Governors. We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to recognize this great man!

In regard to award nominations, the Board has extended the cutoff for nominations until the end of the year so if you know a great business or are a great business that should be nominated for consideration, please take a few minutes and fill out the nomination form and submit it by December 31st.  The Award Nominations Committee will be meeting the first week of January to identify three finalists in each of the award categories: Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Best New Business of the Year, Best Place to Work, and Volunteer of the Year. Qualifications for each of the awards are included on the nominations form which is available at Gala Nomination Form.
