CW Leadership Communication - Women in Business Conference - Award Winners - Job Fair

With the wrap up of the first quarter of the year, ChamberWest has experienced an exciting start to the year!  Right around the corner is a very impressive Women in Business Spring Conference, scheduled for Tuesday, April 12th, at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center.  Keynote topics include:  Change - How to Turn Uncertainty into Opportunity by Suzette Blakemore with FranklinCovey and Statues vs. Stature: Leading at any Level by Jodi Orgill Brown, an award-winning author.  In addition, breakout topics include: Creating a Culture of Kindness; The Words Effect: How to Create Your Most Beautiful Life; and Women and Money: Taking Charge of Your Financial Future.  In addition to the strong topics, participants will enjoy reconnecting with colleagues and friends, visiting with exhibitors, breakfast, lunch and more.  Sponsorship opportunities are still available and registration is open at:  https://chamberwest.com/events/details/women-in-business-spring-conference-1611.  Please help us get the word out to others who may enjoy attending.

The 2022 Annual Awards Gala, held on Tuesday night celebrated a night of “There’s No Place Like ChamberWest”.  It was our biggest event ever!  Many thanks to the Gala Committee who worked so hard during the past few months in planning and execution of another fabulous event.  The decorations were amazing, the award finalists and winners were all very deserving, Mayor Overson’s recognition as our Hall of Fame Award Recipient was spot on and her acceptance remarks were perfect with connections to “Dorothy” and “No Place Like Home”.  Our Master of Ceremony, Tim Hughes with KSL Radio, knocked it out of the ball park with his Tin Man costume, his charm and wit, and especially his closing remarks tying challenges we’ve all faced over the last two years to an appreciation of having brains, heart, and courage.  Congrats to our award winners this year!

The Spring Job Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, April 27th from 2:00 – 6:00 pm.  In partnership with the Granite School District, Jordan School District, Salt Lake Community College, and Utah Department of Workforce Services, the job fair offers a great opportunity to connect employers with high school students, college students, and local adult job seekers looking to “work local”.  Tables for employers are available at no charge to members of ChamberWest and sponsorship opportunities are available for greater exposure.  The focus is on summer jobs and future career options for students and better jobs for adult job seekers in our westside community.
If interested in any sponsorship opportunities or if you need help registering for an event, please reach out to Connie Bailey at connie@chamberwest.org or by calling her at 801-977-8755.  Thank you for all you do in support of this great community.  We are proud to represent the local business voice in West Valley, West Jordan, Taylorsville, and Kearns.  Please feel free to reach out to me or staff if we can be of service.

Best wishes,
