CW Leadership Communication - Small Business Series - Job Fair - Congrats and More

Just over a week away, on Wednesday, April 27th, we have two events of interest.  In the morning from 8:30 – 10:00 am, as part of a series, we have a panel discussion on 1.9% Unemployment! Can You Find and Hold on to Good Employees?  Attendees will learn and discuss successful strategies to attracting the talent needed given the current hiring environment.  How does your company culture influence your ability to attract and retain employees?  What are some approaches to culture that can weather any hiring environment?  Our panel of experts will provide tips on attracting and keeping successful happy employees.  Register at:  https://business.chamberwest.com/events/details/2022-cw-small-business-development-series-04-27-2022-1832?calendarMonth=2022-04-01

Secondly, the Spring Job Fair is scheduled on Wednesday, April 27th from 2:00 – 6:00 pm at Hunter High School.  In partnership with the Granite School District, Jordan School District, Salt Lake Community College, and Utah Department of Workforce Services, the job fair offers a great opportunity to connect employers with high school students, college students, and local adult job seekers looking to “work local”.  Employer tables are available at no charge to ChamberWest members. The focus is on summer jobs and future career options for students and better jobs for adult job seekers in our westside community.  We’re anticipating 85+ employers to be present and are marketing the job fair through the school districts, libraries, Utah Department of Workforce Services, print ads, local community event listings, and more.  You can still secure a table just through Thursday of this week at:  https://business.chamberwest.com/events/details/chamberwest-job-fair-4-27-22-1816?calendarMonth=2022-04-01

Congratulations to Trish Hull and the Women in Business Executive Committee on a very successful Women in Business Spring Conference last week.  The Utah Cultural Celebration Center did an amazing job hosting us and the food from Isabella’s was excellent.  Many thanks to Suzette Blakemore, Jodi Orgill Brown, Mayor Karen Lang, Mayor Kristie Overson, Representative Ashlee Matthews, Kris Carter, Rebecca Shelton, and Becky Kemp for their highly impactful messages and participation.  It was nice to see so many able to join us in person again!
