CW Leadership Communication - Legislature Highlights - Important Events and Opportunities
It’s hard to believe that we are in the last week of the Legislative Session! Since the session started in January, the Legislative Affairs Committee has been meeting twice a week and have reviewed and taken position on many bills impacting our business community. Along with representatives of our law enforcement community and the attorney general’s office, our committee members worked with Representative Matt MacPherson on HB584 – Economic Interruption Amendments, a bill addressing the economic interruption of a business due to property damage or theft. We also worked to defeat SB152 – Cost Sharing Amendments which we believed would increase insurance costs for our businesses. You can view the 98 bills currently on the tracker at 2024 CW Bill Tracker. Be sure to use the tabs at the top to review House and Senate Bills. Many thanks to our committee chair, Kory Holdaway, all our committee members, and legislators for all their hard work during the 45-day legislative session!
