It’s about the people, right?  Our chamber is rich with the strength of our membership and the many leaders in those businesses and organizations.  Many volunteer hours from our members are dedicated to the work of the chamber on behalf of our business community.  It truly does take a village!  In addition, our Chamber team is strong and we are excited to announce a new member.  Please join me in welcoming Monica Gayden-Sadr, our new Director of Business Development and Events!  She brings with her an amazing background in sales as she has been employed in the hotel industry for much of her professional career, most recently as the Dual Director of Sales at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott and Hampton Inn by Hilton in West Valley City.   Having been a member since 2015, Monica has been very engaged in ChamberWest over the years, serving as Chair of the Women in Business Committee and as a committee member on both the golf committee and the gala committee.  She will start in her new role on August 1^st.

The Leadership Institute Board of Trustees continue to accept applications for the 2022/2023 Leadership Institute Program which starts on September 14^th.  If you have an amazing leader in your organization or someone you expect will do great things.  You may be very interested in sending them through this impactful and highly acclaimed program.  You can find more information and an application for participation at:  https://www.chamberwest.com/leadership-institute/.  This program will fill soon as it is limited to 28 participants with a maximum of two a year per organization.

Mark your calendar and plan to attend the Annual Fall Business Conference, scheduled for Wednesday, November 9^th from 7:15 am – 2:30 pm.  The planning committee has been meeting and are assembling a very powerful and timely program.  Sponsorship opportunities are available by reaching out to the chamber office. 
 
You received an email from me regarding the Employer Retention Credit on June 22^nd.  This program was rolled out as part of the CARES Act in 2020 with changes made in March of 2021 which you may want to explore to determine whether your organization qualifies for the program.  Start by answering the following questions:  1)  Did you pay employees during 2020 and 2021 during a period you were restricted by government orders related to COVID-19?  2)  Did you have to modify business activities due to COVID 19 and government orders?  If you can’t locate the email or need additional information, please feel free to reach out to me.
